3D Blog - The 3DS Max experience

2:58 AM

This is my blog for week 5, and I will be sharing my thoughts and experiences on this wonderfully crafted program, 3DS Max. Like many other computer programs, they started as a simple on to build simple things and turn them to masterpieces, 3Ds Max is one of them. Not only I found that it's similar to how you started to learn photoshop and excel, you can also survive using a few keys and shortcuts, I don't find it hard to use, just that there are so many settings that I can make an animation and it's not as hard as drawing frame by frame. 3D to me is interesting and new, I am eager to try using my free time to play with it.

As for the first assignment, it's to animate a ball with characteristics, I find the UI easy to use, even if we're talking about animating a ball, I don't feel any stress doing it. Rendering is a tricky part, or so I say I'm new to it, it's not just one click to render my animation, there are different settings and methods to make it look better. The below is a screenshot of my panda animation.

We have until week 8 to hand up our second assignment, which is the 3d chess set, with a tutorial we need to follow. On that tutorial, we could learn some basic tools to twist and turn things. I really love how they made the UI, which doesn't confuses users. With this assignment I could complete it on time, only left the Knight chess, which I am planning to wait for my lecturer to teach. Here is the unfinished screenshot.

That's it for my experience, I will be sharing more about my thoughts and what I'll be doing for this subject on my next post! Thank you.
