Before even writing this post, I have to state that this is based on personal research and there is no reason to argue about it. We are comparing the speed and price per month with the Ringgit value as of 30th of September, 2015.
Researched Countries:
Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea
Aim:
To investigate the most affordable package provided with speeds of 10, 50, 100, 300, 500Mbps or more in each country.
Currency:
Ringgit Malaysia
Purpose:
To conclude, if Malaysia's internet is expensive.
Test Subject:
Major providers, household subscription, 2year agreement.
So, the major internet providers have shown their prices online.
NOTE: Prices are purely based on normal time periods with no promotion or discounts.
To have some basic knowledge, we need to see how much we are paying now if you own a fiber subscription.

First Impression,
If you are offended (For what reason what-so-ever), please leave, this is an informative chart. I am not making up words myself. You can Google search it.
Why Faster?
Faster speeds does not necessarily mean anything without some purpose for it. We listed out a few tasks a regular household user would/could do.
Online TV
Do it or not, some people watch online TV from a TV box, unlike a satellite TV subscription. Online TV uses your WiFi to stream TV programs. Which means it would probably slow down the whole internet speed when someone is using their computer to perform tasks. Faster means the connection does not have to suck so much.
Life with a Smartphone
It's 2015, everyone has a phone. I am very sure more than 80% of Malaysians owns one regardless of how much it cost. It could be a RM100 one with internet connection. Why does speed care you ask? I say, do you want to pay for 3G or LTE data?
Faster speeds mean:
Oh wait, I can check my Facebook when I reached home.
Oh hey, this shop got fast wifi, better not use my data.
Look, the bus got free wifi, don't need data already.
Wait a second, the city is full of free high speed internet.
WHY do you even need data if your city is a WiFi city?
With a city full of free and fast WiFi, save up that data money and get a better phone/food/etc .
Life on a Computer Screen.
Whether it's arranging your course timetable or watching a YouTube video, who doesn't not want super speeds?
Forget loading, your YouTube video finished loading the moment you even click on the video. Perhaps that's not satisfying enough, who even wait for downloads these days? A regular Korean teenager can watch that online movie the moment he clicked on it.

Also live streaming videos don't have to be in low resolution anymore, enjoy Ultra HD on your laptop with super speeds.
Life as a Gamer.
In this digital era, when even online gaming is a career, every rich gamer has a common characteristic.
They have ultra fast internet speeds.
A: Yes, South Korea!!!
B: Not only South Korea, there is a lot more countries.
A: First world countries.
Even Youtube gaming could earn you millions, famous or not, the most subscribed YouTuber sensation, PewDiePie earns 4 million US dollars a year. What matters more than uploading video or downloading games to record for a video?
Yes, smart, the internet speed. Trust me, you will not be happy if your uploading remaining time takes 5 days.
Conclusion
I have shown you the speeds and price for both Malaysia and overseas. I even showed you the benefits of having a fast internet. What's bad about fast internet speeds? If your country has an ultra speed internet connection, your citizens will have faster and more information , with that they will learn more about things they don't know... I got it, nevermind . I better stfu , if not...
